Good news for home care recipients may help those living with MS
The Government of Ontario has:

  • increased upper limits on hours of personal support/homemaking services from 80 hours to 120 hours in the first 30 days of service, and from 60 to 90 hours in any subsequent 30-day period;
  • eliminated home care maximums on personal support and homemaking for patients waiting for a long-term care bed or receiving palliative care at home;

The MS Society has advocated for increased home care and is awaiting clarification on whether the increases will apply to all Ontarians who require home care or just seniors. For details visit http://ogov.newswire.ca/ontario/GPOE/
