Photo of a woman at a computerEducation is very much a part of all MS Society related activities. Through MS Society educational programs, people with MS and their families gain a better understanding of multiple sclerosis.

The MS Society offers a number of live sessions taking place across Canada as well as a number of online resources.

 

 

Live National Education Series

Navigating the MS Maze
This education series will focus on providing information to people living with MS in navigating the myriad of options today, including medications and treatment, symptom management and wellness strategies. Learn more about the sessions taking place in British Columbia and Ontario.

 

» Montréal08 - Living with MS

Montréal08On September 16, 2008 the MS Society of Canada and the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation partnered to host Living with MS: Global perspectives on Current Issues. This one day educational event held in Montreal convened people with MS and leading experts from around the world. In all, 500 people from 22 countries heard presentations on subjects including MS management, treatment and research.

Women & Wellness: Achieving Wellness While Living With MS
The session was offered in French in Montreal, Quebec in coordination with simultaneous translation in English during the spring of 2011. The main goal of this education event was to offer information for women to live well with multiple sclerosis. It was intended for women of all ages who wanted to learn more on how to maximize their health, well-being and quality of life. View the session recorded in French on May 28th, 2011.

What's New, What's Next
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada held two education sessions for the general public in the fall of 2010. This session called What’s New, What’s Next discussed the topic of current and new MS treatment options. It was presented as a live webcast and accepted questions from the studio audience and online participants. View the session broadcast live across Canada in November 2010.

Managing MS-related Sexual Dysfunction
In the spring of 2006 the MS Society offered a new way to receive information on difficult topics related to MS. This archived education session will provide the viewer with information to help manage Sexual Dysfunction related to MS. View the session.

Managing MS-related Bowel and Bladder
In the spring of 2006 the MS Society offered a new way to receive information on difficult topics related to MS. This archived education session will provide the viewer with information to help manage Bowel and Bladder Dysfunction related to MS. View the session.

Living Well with MS: Mind Matters
This series toured across Canada to 13 English-speaking cites and three French-speaking ones from the fall of 2004 to the fall of 2005. This session will help people living with MS and depression understand what they have been struggling with, and how to better cope in their day-to-day lives. View the session, broadcast live from Hamilton to 15 sites across Canada in 2004.

Living for Today: Managing MS Pain
This series has been presented at 13 locations across Canada in the fall of 2005, with 7 additional sites in 2006. This education session will, through outstanding presenters who form an expert “Q & A” panel, to provide you with insights and tools to help manage MS pain. The goal is to provide people with MS, their families and caregivers with accurate and up-to-date information, enabling an enhanced quality of life while acknowledging their reality of living with MS.
