Why I Ride...Dan Sims
I have been involved with MS for a number of years primarily as a result of having a sister living with Multiple Sclerosis. Robin, 44, mother to 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren, was diagnosed with the disease approximately 10 years ago after seeking medical reason for the dizziness, loss of feeling in her hands, and tripping over nothing.
In my own personal efforts to help, I have become a fundraising participant twice in the MS Walk (Winnipeg) and four times in the MS Bike – three times in Central Alberta and once in Hinton, Alberta (mountains, off-road). Through these events, I have raised over $30,000. A personal goal I have set for myself is to coordinate and hold an annual fundraising event raising a minimum of $50,000 per year.
Ultimately, it is a way for me to make sure my family members are not left behind.

MS Bike Tour – Red Deer
18th Annual
June 9 & 10, 2012

THANK YOU for cycling to end MS!

We recognize the effort it takes to train for this tour and to raise pledges. You show your commitment to help us continue to provide the essential support services to those people and their circle who live with MS right here in Central Alberta and to provide the funds that enable the critical research that will one day end MS!

The MS Bike Tour – Red Deer, June 11 & 12, turned out very well. While it rained one day, we did not have to deal with toronado warnings and cold wind. We consider ourselves to be the BEST LITTLE BIKE TOUR IN ALBERTA! Where else will you get the personal attention, no line-ups at checkpoints, lunch or porta-potties….and the best roast beef dinner ever at end of Day 1.  We have tabulated your evaluation surveys and we are grateful for your thoughtful input. One of our Chapter staff cycled this year for the first time. Her comments were insightful – ‘those cyclists were all there for the right reason’ …..to help us end MS! We are grateful! See the EVENT PHOTOS and revisit the memories you made!
